Watch cycling: choose a viewing point

Starts, roadside sections and finishes offer different experiences. Build the day around the official route and closures.

Choose a priority

At the start, check presentation times and accessible areas. Along the route, choose a permitted spot without obstructing access. At the finish, check stands, barriers and entry routes; the line may be difficult to approach.

Read the stage route

A town on the route is not necessarily the start or finish. Check the profile, estimated passage schedule and local instructions. Timing depends on the race; leave a margin rather than scheduling to the minute.

Plan access and return

Identify road closures and permitted walking or transport access. Do not cross during the race. Follow reopening instructions before returning to a vehicle or travelling to another stage.

Questions before booking

Does an event listing show every passage point?

No. Calendar dates summarise the period; detailed routes are in the official programme.

Can I visit several points in one day?

Only if permitted access and closures allow it. Distance alone cannot establish a feasible trip.
